Choosing Jewellery to Match Your Neckline
Launch library · evergreen read

The neckline of an outfit does most of the work in deciding what jewellery will actually look right, yet it is often the very last thing people think to consider. A high, closed neckline generally calls for statement earrings and a shorter necklace, since there is little bare skin left for a longer piece to rest against.
A deep V neck or sweetheart neckline, by contrast, creates natural space for a longer necklace or a layered set to sit beautifully without competing with the fabric underneath. Off shoulder or boat necklines suit chokers particularly well, since they frame the collarbone rather than disappearing under folds of loose fabric.
When in doubt, hold the jewellery against the outfit before the day itself rather than deciding on the spot in a rush. What looks striking on its own can easily overwhelm a busy neckline, and what looks simple in isolation often becomes exactly right once it meets the right amount of exposed skin.
