Repurposing a Dupatta as a Different Accessory

A dupatta rarely needs to be limited to its original single purpose, and a little creative thinking can turn an underused piece into something with genuinely renewed everyday value, rather than leaving it folded away untouched at the back of a drawer for years and years on end.
A lightweight dupatta can become a scarf for western wear, a table runner for festive hosting, or even fabric for a smaller accessory like a potli bag or a simple headband, depending entirely on the fabric's weight and existing pattern or embellishment already present on it from before.
This kind of repurposing works particularly well for dupattas that no longer suit their original outfit but remain genuinely beautiful on their own merits and fine craftsmanship. Rather than discarding them, finding a second, different use extends their value considerably without spending anything further at all beyond a little spare time and some genuine imagination.
